Answers to FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: Attire: Attire for this pageant is CASUAL WEAR! This can be custom made or off the rack!
Hair and Makeup: Professional hair and makeup are not required. We are not a Glitz Pageant! However, makeup is permissible. We highly discourage the use of anything FAKE--such as flippers and wiglets! Please come completely dressed and ready to go on stage. There will be restrooms available for minor touch ups but please arrive completely ready in your pageant attire with hair and makeup finished! Competition Details: Contestants will do a walk of choice to upbeat music. We provide the music so you do not need to bring a CD. Model like you are in a fashion show! :)
Contestants in the Baby Miss and Tiny Miss Division must have an adult on stage with them at all times! Coaches standing behind the judges doing routines as their contestant is onstage is NOT acceptable. Check In: Please DO NOT arrive early for check in. We have the check in time set so you have plenty of time to check in your food collected and pick up your contestant number.
DO NOT ARRIVE EARLY. Please Plan to arrive between 1:15 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. Contestants should arrive dressed and ready to go!

Judging: Contestants will be judged on Overall Appearance, Stage Presence and Personality.
TOTAL SCORE = Overall Appearance + Stage Presence + Personality
DIVISIONAL QUEENS' PRIZES:
One Winner in each division will receive a beautiful Rhinestone Tiara, Miss Heart of the USA sash, rhinestone sash pin and her entry fee ($295 Value) paid to the 2013 Massachusetts Miss Heart of the USA Pageant.
A First and Second Runner-Up in each Division Win a $150 Gift Certificate to be used towards their entry fee to the
2013 Massachusetts State Miss Heart of the USA Pageant and a Rhinestone Tiara! Third and Fourth Runner-Up in each Division Win a lovely gift package and a Rhinestone Tiara!
Queens of Hearts: All of our pageants are "Pageants with a Purpose". We strive to teach our girls the importance of giving back to the community. Contestants are required to bring in a minimum of 15 non perishable food (Canned Food) items.
The contestant who brings in the most canned food items will be awarded our most prestige title : "Queen of Hearts".
If you are bringing in more than the required 15 canned food items; you must have the food counted prior to turning it in. All food must be in bags/boxes and labeled with the contestants name and division. The contestant who turns in the most food items that are bagged/boxed with the proper labeling, will be crowned "Queen of Hearts".
Our "Queen of Hearts" will received her Miss Heart of the USA Queen of Hearts Sash, her beautiful Queen of Hearts Rhinestone Crown, rhinestone sash pin and her entry fee to our 2013 Massachusetts Miss Heart of the USA State Pageant!

Queen of Sharing: Our "Queen of Sharing" title goes to the contestant who collects the most "Sharing Points". By sharing information about the Miss Heart of the USA Pageant Program, our contestants help to promote collection of additional Toys. (If you would like to compete for this title....once you have registered....immediately request a "Care Package" from the State Office!) State Office Email: christel@missheartoftheusa.comQueen of Sharing Points are earned for the following:
1 Point --for each Poster Placed in a local business at least 10 days prior to pageant
(must compete a Poster Verification form for each location)
1 Point --for placing at least 3 flyers in professional offices and business that do not have a bulletin board to post the official poster on (i.e. Doctors Offices, Dentist Offices, Lawyers, etc.)

1 Point --for Sharing the information about your Miss Heart of the USA Preliminary with all your FaceBook friends.
1 Point --for Sharing the official Miss Heart of Christmas Post (you can request this post from the State Office: christel@missheartoftheusa.com ) by posting it on any pageant related website

Ambassador: Our Ambassador title goes to the contestant who is responsible for the most "referrals". To qualify the contestant must list you on her registration form in the "referred by" section. She must also pay her registration fee and actually compete.So who do you know that you would like to have fun with at the South Shore's Miss Heart of USA preliminary......call them......facebook them....email them.......have fun! A referral CAN NOT be a member of your immediate household.

Our Ambassador will receive her beautiful Miss Heart of the USA Ambassador Tiara, her beautiful Ambassador Sash, a stunning rhinestone sash pin and her entry fee paid to our 2013 Massachusetts State Miss Heart of the USA Pageant!
Scholarship Queens & Princesses: To compete for this title you must collect "Signatures for Scholarships". All you have to do is request a "Signatures for Scholarships" form from the State Office (christel@missheartoftheusa.com). Each "Scholarship Signature " represents a $5 donation to our Scholarship/Sponsorship Fund. The contestant who collects the most $5 Signature Donations will be crowned our "Scholarship Queen"! She will receive her beautiful Sash, beautiful rhinestone tiara, rhinestone sash pin and her entry fee paid to our 2013 Massachusetts State Miss Heart of the USA Pageant!
If she collects at least 30 Signatures for Scholarship ( a full page) she also receives her beautiful Scholarship Round Crown--pictured above!
UNLIMITED SCHOLARSHIP PRINCESSES: A GUARANTEED TRIP TO STATE!
Each and every contestant who collects at least 60 Signatures for Scholarship (and the Sixty $5 donations-2 full pages) is automatically crowned a "Scholarship Princess" and is awarded a beautiful Scholarship Princess Sash, Round Crown and her entry fee paid to our 2013 Massachusetts State Miss Heart of the USA Pageant! If the Scholarship Princess turns in 3 full pages of Signatures for Scholarship (that's 90 Signatures and $5 donations) she will also be awarded our beautiful "Sparkle" sash.....a rhinestone enhanced Miss Heart of the USA Sash along with her Round Crown and entry fee paid to our 2013 Massachusetts State Miss Heart of the USA Pageant!
These donations help to support our State and National Scholarship Funds and allow us to do FREE or VERY LOW COST pageants through out the year so that every little girl who wants to participate in a Miss Heart of the USA Preliminary can. The pages go into a drawing to be held at our Crowning at the 2013 State Pageant . Pages will be drawn during the evening. The Queens who were responsible for collecting the donations that the winning page represents will win some extremely nice prizes!
Our Cover Miss Title: Your Miss Heart of the USA Preliminary will have a Miss Cover Girl title. The contestant who sells the most space in the Official Pageant Program will not only have the honor of her picture being the front cover...... as our "Miss Cover Girl".......but will also receive her official Miss Cover Girl sash, her beautiful rhinestone tiara, her stunning rhinestone sash pin and her entry fee paid to our 2013 Massachusetts State Pageant. Deadline for turning in money, ads and pictures is Tuesday May 21st at midnight!Ads may be submitted on line at: www.missheartoftheusa.com/goodluck
Cover Girl Points:
1 Point--- for each $25 "Good Luck" friends and family ad
3 Points-- for each $50 "Good Luck" friends and family ad with picture
1 Point--- for each Business Card Ad

Viewers Choice: This title is voted on by the audience and grandmother and aunts ......etc.....
Each vote is $1.00 and the contestant with the most votes wins! She will receive a beautiful rhinestone tiara, sash and entry fee paid to the 2013 Massachusetts Miss Heart of the USA Pageant ($295 Value). Money collected for the Viewer's Choice Title is to be turned in at the front desk. Please place it in an envelope with the contestants name, number and division clearly printed on the front. Remember, this is a great way for grandmothers, aunts, uncles, etc. who cannot attend the pageant to still participate--

MISS PHOTOGENIC COMPETITION
ENTRY FEE IS $20 each addt photo is $10
Divisional Photogenic winners will receive a Miss Heart of the USA Photogenic Trophy and sash.
A Miss Photogenic overall winner will be chosen. She will receive her sash, her crown, her sash pin and her entry paid($295 Value) to our 2013 State Competition.
Photogenic - Photos can be of any size and do not have to be professionally done. This can be a head-shot or full body shot. Photos are scored on personality projection, clarity and overall photogenic qualities. Photos need to be turned into the Registration Desk as soon as you arrive. Photos must be labeled with the Contestant's Name and Division. No photos will be accepted that do not meet these requirements. DO NOT MAIL ANY PHOTOS TO THE DIRECTORS! There will be an additional charge of $10 per photo. All photos must be picked up immediately following the competition at the Registration Desk.
